Christmas in June June 27, 2008

I know it is not the right season.  Well when you do free lance work you are never on the same season.  Another one of my favorites was also made for a book that is now xcld.  One of my fondest childhood christmas memories was the chirping dove that my grandmother had oon her tree.  You had to plug it in to hear it, and hear it you did.  It was not so much of a lovely chirp but more of a chirpy siren.  Kids loved it and the adults hated it.  Before my grandmother passed away she gave me that “lovely” ornament.  It is on my tree hanging out with its cord hidden.  I plug it in when no one is a round, and I smile.

This layout was one that I created for a book.  The book was about scrapping your faith.  I found our a while back that the book was cancelled.  This saddens me.  I created some of my favorite/best pieces for this book.  This layout in particular is very simplictic in nature, yet it speaks volumes to me.  If you move your curser over it I think it will show up larger and you can read the journaling.

Toppers June 24, 2008

A gift bag is a quick way to give a gift.  Adding the custome topper says – Hey I really like you!  The bag is inexpensive.  I buy them at Mike’s in sets they are like 12 for $3.  It has been a while since I purchased them so I could be wron on th price.  But I know it is not much.  The paper is Kaiser Craft and the stamped tags are a NEW release from Unity Stamp Co.  I used Flocking on the glove.  If anyone knows good tips for working with that stuff please share.  I swear mine never looks like the pictures the manufacturer shows.

While l making a few cards the other day I realized that most of what I make are feminine cards.  I decided to make one a little bit masculine.  It is still on the cutesy side.  But I think the color scheme is what makes it more manly.  The papers and rubons are from Kaiser Craft.  I absolutely love their papers and embellishments.  They have these little half pearls that are so perfect when you do not want to use a rhinestone.

Making it & moving on. June 18, 2008

This is what we were reduced to for a week.  Gypsies we were.  Maxx and I stayed with my friend Tricia and her 6 kids one dog and four cats.  Gary and Mimi dog were there for one night too.  When you already live with that many what are a few more?????  I found this picture when looking for a photo of the inside of the house.  It is still hard to believe that We moved 12 hours away from our friends and family.  I am very lucky to work with very patient companies.  Amanda at Pazzles and Angela at Unity have been so nice to work with in this transition.  I am two months behind for both.  But I will catch up ASAP.  So be looking for pictures of projects very soon.  I am hoping to take Sunday as a day to catch up.  Before Gary’s parents get here for a week.  Then my little sister Emily will be here the day they leave.  She and a friend are coming for 6 days.  Then we have a few days from guests.  I leave for CHA and Gary’s brother & SIL Emi and son Ben are coming for 5 days. That takes us through the end of July.  So who is coming next?  Heidi?  Amy?  Carla and the kids?

That is Kim & Ernesto.  They were fatastic.  She is the brains and he is the muscles in the operation.  They were enjoyable to be around and that made the process so much easier.  I have so many things yet to be unpacked.  I am less overwhelmed this week.  I finally feel like I have made a dent and this brick box feels more like a home.  THere is 4 weeks left until CHA and I am no where near ready.  I have to change all of my paper brochures since my information has all changed.  New brochures, mailers and business cards.
