Cuppa? plus trial & errors September 5, 2008
What do you see in the cup? mochachiato? latte? Me, I see a simple cocoa with some whip cream and a dash of cinnamon sprinkles. As simple as this card looks it was not. It took on a life of its own. It started out as one thing and morphed into this. But as my friend Lauren would say “there are no mistakes in art, only opportunities to embellish” Her blog is to the right if you want to click on the link. Now back to this card.
I started out trying to use WaterMark ink as a resist with Glimmer Mist. Did not work, FYI. So then I decide to try embossing. I did so on cream paper and sprayed Juniper Glimmer Mist over. It looked nice but still not quite right. So I repeated the whole process again. It turned out better. Then I decided to cut them out. Did do and layered them. Not enought dimension. Tore them apart and added Scotch 3d foam. Now enough dimension…yes something was still missing. Whip cream. Marvy puffy stuff. Then I sprinkled embossing powder in the center just before heating it. Now my cocoa has cinnamon sprinkles. I thought the steam was going to be white. I used opaque white. Either I do not know what opaque is or my stuff is defective. But the steam looks good I think. Once the cards was finished I gave it an over-all spritz of gold glimmer mist
