6.JPG Eileen Hull SIzzix Cup Cake , Niki Meiners

No that is not really a word.  These two cupcakes are adorned with NEW cupcake die cuts.  They are made by Sizzix and designed by Eileen Hull.  She is so proud of her new designs and quite frankly I am too.  They were so easy to work with and they hold an unlimited amount of design potential.  If you would like to see more designs done using this die visit the blogs below.

My dies were decorated with Smooch, Smooch Spritz, Clearsnap inks Design Adhesives

Christmas bag tag and boxYes, I know it is Spring and the flowers are in full bloom.  Seasons are optional when you work for the print  publication.  Most projects are made 6-9 months ahead.  Plus Christmas is the one holiday that I work on year round.  The demand for Christmas designs is ongoing.    With this set I thought I would go a little non-traditional and cutesy.  The paper is GCD STUDIOS and the stamps are HANNA STAMPS.  Prima Flowers and Clearsnap ink.  Prism Cardstock.  I tend to gravitate towards earthtones even for Christmas.  What are your favorite colors for the holidays?

Baking? March 31, 2009

lovin-from-the-ovenI love to bake.  It is very different from when I cook.  Cooking is an exercise in creativity while baking for me is an exact science.  It is very easy to foul up a baked good.  Too much liquid and it is soggy.  Not enough and you have a hard brick.  Better yet if you are talking on the phone and not paying attention to what you have added you get a really gross tasting hard brick.  Not that I would ever do a thing like that.  Occassionally I like to give my baked goods that have all of their ingredients and taste correctly to my neighboors.  Gift bags for me are the easiest way to deliver them.  In my head the pretty packaging makes it taste better too.

What is your favorite thing to bake?  Do you have a special packaging?

While at CHA I participated in the Green Gallery Make and Takes.  I had very generous support from the manufactures attending the show.  I would love to show you the actual project.  But the camera did not make it to the show with me.  If you are not familiar with these manufactures please check out their websites.  They have great products.

CHA was great.  Nothing like seeing old friends and making new ones, but it is always wonderful to come home.  I worked with Clearsnap Ink at the show doing make and takes and demonstrating how to use to use their new product SMOOCH.  If I could have replicated myself I would have.  This new ink was a huge hit and I barely had time to breath. I will try to put up some samples and show a few pictures after I recover.

As logic would have it today I was going to spray paint 3 projects.   To bad I could not get to them yesterday when it was 60 and sunny.  It is still 60 and no sun in sight.  Oh, well another day.  I will simply shift projects around.winter-house     My cards is snowing.   This card does not show up well at all.  It is a navy cardstock and it did not photograph very well.  This is another image from Odd Bird Planet Stamps.  Man are they cute!!!  Some of you might also know them as Just Johanna.  Either way I like their stuff.

upcycle, recycle, repurpose ? November 21, 2008

key-holder  They are all basically the same things.

 Repurpose- give new life.

Recycle - get another use out of

Upcycle- newest cycber term for giving something a new life.

Call it what ever you want.  But I am glad it is finally fashionable.  I have been doing this forever.  I have always found it to be a fun challenge.  A test to my creative ablity.

This was a pink teddybear ballarina frame with a broken mirror in the top.  I thought since we move oceanside it might be nice to have a tiny bit of the decor.  THis is going in the mudroom.

I was going for the Beach Chic or Beach Casual look.  The push pins are sand dollars.

ho-ho-hoThis was made with one of the new Christmas stamps released from Unity 2 weeks ago.  I used a Sakura Glitter Pen to highlight the Ho in each card so it would say HO HO HO.  It might not show up so well on the monitor bt it looks shiny in person.  I actually got out my Wizard and a Cuttle bug texture folder too.  The inks are Ancient Page Indigo, magenta and fern leaf.

lovin-from-the-ovenTrying out some new looks.  I am thinking this is a bit to bold for shabby chic.  I think it is more of a tacky vintage look.  Is there a term for that yet?  OH no you should not have Chic?  I like to post my good, not so good and my down right bizarre.
