3rd person and new things

My son of ten talks about himself in 3 person.  While it catches me of guard when he does it, I find it amuzing at the same time.  The first words out of his mouth this morning was “Good morning Mama, the boy is HUNGRY”.   It gives me a giggle everytime he speaks like that.  So I did what any mama would do and I fed the boy.  I think one reason it makes me laugh is it reminds me of a movie from way back in the 80’s.  One of my all time favorites, Pretty In Pink.  THere is a character named Donger and one line from him that is most rememerable is “the Donger need food”, Yes there is another line that I know he said but I am hoping not to associate that with the boy for quite a few years.

If anyone but Carla can quote the line in referrence.  I will send you out some kind of prize.  What I do know.  Not the normal type of thing for me to do.

I do not think we got the stinky pink house.  We ran into multiple offers over the weekend.  Oh, well.  I do not need that beautiful 6 burner gas stove or the two drawer dishwasher.  With a kitchen like that there might be high expectations attached.  There are still many others on my list of possibilities.  So we will have to see where this road leads.

  1. I LOVE Sixteen Candles (with Donger) but also enjoy Pretty In Pink. I’m a child of the 80’s – LOL! Anywho .. there is several lines that I love so I’m hoping this is one of them: “What’s happenin’ Hot Stuff?” or “Lake, big lake!” or “No more yanky my *anky… the Donger needs food” My sisters and I always quote the Grandma, “Dong! Dong! Grandpa’s talking to you Dong!” We say that when our kids aren’t paying attention to us – LOL!
