A place to bark

I added a new link on the side.  It is to a blog from a fellow artist and animal lover.  Never met her but we follow each other on Twitter.  I admire anyone who can do what she is doing.  I have one dog who I rescued 11 years ago from an animal shelter.  She was an unwanted Christmas present.  Lucky me.  She has been the best dog.  I know she is getting older and I dread the day she goes.  I pray she has a 5 more years in her.  She is a mix of a Keashound and an Elkhound.    This is my son giving her some “love”.  She has the patients of a saint.  But I digress.  My whole point to this post was not about my dog and how lucky I am to have her.  But was to say thank you to the volunteers who take care of the animals.  Go check out a place to bark.  It will make you want to run out and pick up a pound puppy or older dog too.

For now Mimi girl will do.  I know what my next dog will be – A Chinese Crested.  When I am meant o have one I will.  for now I will watch them on the TV and give my girl all the love I can.

My website http://365daysofcrafts.com Bio- Growing up in a small mid-western town, Niki Meiners was surrounded by a modest, resourceful and very entrepreneurial family. Her simple upbringing spurred her "Can do" attitude and gave her the confidence to try any challenge placed before her. She knew there was more out there than just her small town and set off after high school to explore the world. It was through these travels that she discovered her love of art and her desire to make the world a prettier place. It was not until she suffered a paralyzing illness that she realized she wanted to reconsider her corporate career as a Chief Paper Pusher, and her thoughts immediately turned to her first passion, art. In 2003 she began an odyssey that would take her from product design to publication and everywhere in between. She is known for her distinctive, high quality creations that feature a diverse mix of styles and highly creative approach to even the smallest detail. Niki is an Idea Architect, easily outlining every project from concept to completion. Her creations are simultaneously beautiful and functional and her in depth knowledge of the industry allows her to produce projects with a specific understanding of both the consumers and the manufacturers. This knowledge has allowed her work to be featured in the industries leading craft and lifestyle publications and manufacturers’ websites. nikimeiners at gmail.com
