Hard Drive Crash & Jet Engine

My laptop has crashed.  I am waiting to see if it can be repaired and the files recovered.  I am very upset with myself since I have not backed up my files. in almost 8 months.  I used to do it every month.  But what is the most frightening is that 2 of my manuscripts are on there.  The only thing for either book that I have backed up are the outlines for each.  I could cry but I will wait to find out what can be salvaged.

Thank goodness we had not donated out old one yet.  It is painfully slow to use.  Sound like jet engines are running when you power it up.  Most of all do not ask it to perform more than one function at a time or it will start with the glitches.  So until I get my laptop back my post and pictures will be few and far between.

I’ve been told that “SpinRite” (http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm) is a great utility for recovering failed Hard drives. It’s recommended on a highly credible tech show / podcast I listen to (Security Now: http://twit.tv/sn).

Good luck, Niki. I hope you can recover your data.
