Houston we have lift off!!!!!

7717_150999882522_536287522_2635946_2542496_nI spent a very short 3 days in Houston at the Houston  Quilt Market.  It was a new show for me to attend and I really enjoyed it.  Me, yes I sew but I am not a seamstress.  I took Home Ec. in 8th grade and I know the basics.  After attending this show and seeing some incredible quilts that are like soft works of art I feel like I need to take a few more classes.  Okay more than a few classes.  One of the booths that I stopped by was the C&T Publishing booth.  The picture above shows me modling one of the hats they had on display.  I love hats and this one was no exception.  It was a beautifully made Halloween hat.  I would add it to my collection if only they would have offered.  LOL

To my readers – Sorry I have not blogged in a few weeks but work has been picking up in preparation for the CHA Winter show 2010.  Soon I will have some pieces up for your viewing pleasure.

My website http://365daysofcrafts.com Bio- Growing up in a small mid-western town, Niki Meiners was surrounded by a modest, resourceful and very entrepreneurial family. Her simple upbringing spurred her "Can do" attitude and gave her the confidence to try any challenge placed before her. She knew there was more out there than just her small town and set off after high school to explore the world. It was through these travels that she discovered her love of art and her desire to make the world a prettier place. It was not until she suffered a paralyzing illness that she realized she wanted to reconsider her corporate career as a Chief Paper Pusher, and her thoughts immediately turned to her first passion, art. In 2003 she began an odyssey that would take her from product design to publication and everywhere in between. She is known for her distinctive, high quality creations that feature a diverse mix of styles and highly creative approach to even the smallest detail. Niki is an Idea Architect, easily outlining every project from concept to completion. Her creations are simultaneously beautiful and functional and her in depth knowledge of the industry allows her to produce projects with a specific understanding of both the consumers and the manufacturers.
