Circa 1983

I thought this the perfect post for earth day.   I purchased this piece for a whole shiny dollar a few weeks ago from a local thrift store.  My husband looked at me like I was crazy and my seven year old asked me if was REALLY going into our house?  Boy, they now how to give a person some confidence.  LOL  It is a good thing I see lots of potential in this piece.  The you person who made this was very good at hand stitching.   I plan to recycle the piece or rather upcycle it.  Upcycle is to take something old and give it new life – to repurpose it.  That is what I plan on doing.  Not sure exactly what I am going to make this into but several pieces come to mind. I think the birdy would look nice on a pillow and the cars and trains might make something cute for my son.   If you have any ideas feel free to leave a comment.

I so agree. This is a great piece, isn’t it! I see pincushion potential, or an applique on a pillowcase, sachet, a single piece in a frame. What a great find!
